2026 Masking tape Manufacturers

Masking Tape is a functional masking tape made from crepe paper as the substrate and coated with rubber or acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. Through a special embossing process, the base paper (typically wood pulp or mixed pulp) is formed into a uniform concave-convex texture. This structure endows the paper with unique flexibility and extensibility (capable of stretching along with curved surfaces) while enhancing tear resistance (more resistant to bending and damage compared to ordinary flat paper). Its surface is precisely coated with either rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive or acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive, forming a functionally uniform adhesive layer: the rubber adhesive layer is primarily designed for medium-temperature adhesion, offering low cost and strong initial tack; the acrylic adhesive layer focuses on high-temperature stability, maintaining adhesion even after prolonged heating.  

Its core value lies in the synergistic design of the substrate and adhesive layer, achieving a balance between strong adhesion, easy peelability, and minimal residue characteristics. It is widely used in scenarios with high requirements for masking precision, surface protection, and operational efficiency.  

The "strong adhesion without residue" characteristic of crepe paper tape makes it an essential tool in industries such as painting, maintenance, and manufacturing. During the spraying of paint on furniture, home appliances, and automotive parts, it is used to mask areas that do not require painting (such as screw holes, edge joints, and pre-painted surfaces), precisely controlling the diffusion of paint mist to ensure clear coating boundaries and no paint overspray (especially the acrylic high-temperature adhesive layer, which is suitable for baking paint processes). It can be applied to tile surfaces, door and window frames, and floor joints to protect the original surfaces from contamination by paint, putty, or cement (leaving no residue upon removal, thus avoiding secondary cleaning). It is also used for temporary covering of wire ducts and pipe openings to prevent construction debris from entering.  

During circuit board soldering and component fixation, it masks sensitive areas (such as solder joints that do not require welding and display screen surfaces). The temperature-resistant adhesive layer can withstand soldering temperatures (around 200°C) without detaching or leaving carbonized residues. For wall repairs, it masks switches and sockets, and when protecting decorative strips during furniture film application, it is easy to operate and leaves no residue upon removal, making it suitable for household maintenance. Some colored crepe paper tapes can also be used for equipment numbering or temporarily bundling lightweight components (such as wire harness fixation), combining functionality with visibility.  

Through the flexibility of the crepe paper substrate and the precise design of the functional adhesive layer, crepe paper tape achieves a perfect balance among masking precision, adhesive strength, and surface protection. With its multiple advantages of "strong adhesion without residue + versatile temperature resistance + easy application," it has become a key material in fields such as painting, decoration, and manufacturing—ensuring work quality and improving efficiency.
